Thrilled to share that my 'Melt' work has been selected as a finalist in the 2019 Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Award at Gallery Lane Cove. All work in this show will be for sale.
Opening event is Friday 6 Dec 6—8pm alongside the opening of last years winner and very talented friend from NAS - Kirtika Kain.
ABOUT
The biennial Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Award is a national prize established in 1981 to promote and support talented young emerging artists in Australia, initiated by the Lane Cove community in honour of its long term resident Dr Lloyd Rees. Applications are open to 18-30 year old artists Australia-wide in the mediums of painting, drawing and printmaking.

A little update about an interesting group show that one of my paper skeletons is included in in Brisbane curated by Pamela See.
ABOUT
No Waste Form is an eponymous titled series of exhibitions initiated by the Beijing-based international art collective.
An 2019 iteration will open on 29 November, International Buy Nothing Day, at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University at South Bank in Brisbane, Queensland.
Re-purposing is a common thread amongst the collective that has contributors from Europe, North America and Asia. The collective primarily responds to issues within their environment using material rendered redundant by unrelenting technological development.

I'm excited to announce that my work Terraformed (Earthscapes) has been selected to join the other finalists for the 2019 Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award.
ABOUT
Since 2001 The Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award has been a significant national biennial exhibition that aims to elevate the status of works on paper while supporting and promoting artists working with this medium.
With prize money totalling $26,000, the Award showcases outstanding art created with, on or about paper. Artists compete for the $15,000 major award; the Young & Early Career Artist and the Friends of Hazelhurst Local Artist Awards ($5,000 each); and the People’s Choice Award ($1,000), plus the Hazelhurst Preparator’s choice Residency Award.
The exhibition launch and announcement of award recipients will be held on Friday 20 September from 6pm.

I'm very excited to share the news that one of my recent 'Rain' compositions has been selected as a finalist in the 2019 Banyule Award for Works on Paper. This years theme is 'Threshold'. It will also be my first time exhibiting in Victoria (this feels very overdue and I look forward to catching up with some of my Melbourne peers!).
The impact of rainfall is captured by applying a graphite solution on paper during storms. The resulting work embodies the various states of a storm—denoting it’s turbulent nature, its clouds, individual drops and the pooling and tracing of topography as it runs over the land. The grid composition alludes to satellite imagery and mapping—tools used to measure, understand, prepare and predict meteorological phenomena.

ABOUTThe Banyule Award for Works on Paper is awarded biennially to an outstanding contemporary work on paper. It is open to all Australian artists. The award is an acquisitive prize, with the winning artwork entered into the Banyule Art Collection.THEME: THRESHOLD

RAIN II
‘Rain II’ captures the erratic language of one of the planet's most valuable and destructive elements at a point in time where humanity is crossing a threshold of climate and ecological sustainability.
In using water and carbon (graphite is crystallised carbon), the work invites dialogue around their cultural, economic and ecological implications amidst a precariously changing climate.
